WARSAW, Poland (AP) -Polish police say they have detained four Ukrainian feminists after they removed their shirts in front of Warsaw's National Stadium to protest against the European Championship.

The women belong to the group Femen, which opposes Euro 2012 because it fears the tournament will lead to an increase in prostitution.

Some of the activists also used a vulgar insult against the sporting event, which started on Friday with the match between Poland and Greece in the capital. Security guards intervened immediately and were soon backed up by police, who detained the women.

Maciej Karczynski, a spokesman for Warsaw police, said the women were being questioned.
