Members of the Ukrainian feminist group Femen on Monday protested at the Belarusian KGB office demanding to free political prisoners.
The protesters came out to the street topless with moustaches on their faces, holding posters “Long Live Belarus!” and “Free Political Prisoners!”
After the victory of Alexander Lukashenko in the presidential election on December 19, 2010, the Belarusian opposition held a protest rally in Minks. Hundreds of demonstrators including opposition presidential candidates were detained by the police. Some have already been released but Andrei Sannikov, Nikolai Statskevich and human rights activist Ales Belyatsky are still imprisoned.
Several journalists were detained during the Femen protest. It is not known whether the feminist group members have been detained or not.
