KYIV, July 29 (RAPSI) - Three FEMEN activists and a photographer for the "Russian Reporter" magazine that were detained on Saturday, have been released by the courts' order, a Kyiv police spokesman told RIA Novosti

Photographer for the "Russian Reporter" magazine Dmitry Kostyukov was detained along with the three FEMEN activists on Saturady in the northern part of Kyiv. The police took notice of three topless women and a man taking pictures and ordered them to cease. The activists ignored the officers and were detained after that. The girls were charged with minor administrative offenses and the photographer was fined for refusing to comply with police orders.

The police spokesman denied that the activists were beaten up during the detention. "You know FEMEN, they claim to be subject to violence every time, but it is not the case here," - the Kyiv police representative said.

The FEMEN group, which originated in Ukraine, has expanded its activities to other countries as well. Their stunts always feature the same signature piece - they show up topless in any circumstances and in any weather.
