FEMEN storm in a DD-cup: Stand-by for ‘Topless Jihad’! – Al

Amina Tyler Tunisian topless   Pause
  Play

Image 1 of 8: Amina Tyler is the 19 year-old Tunisian who launched a thousand bosoms with her inaugural topless protest. She initially remained anonymous as her trademark red lips, chic ciggie, and grafitti’ed torso did the rounds. Her message to men? F*^ your morals.

Nadia El Fani, Aya Silman, Meriam  Pause

Image 1 of 8: Trending Tunisian toplessness: Amina copy cats sprung up faster than you could say Topless Jihad. Plastered on their breasts, the battle cry: "We are all Amina". Other Tunisians stepped up to bare all in support of their countrywoman’s cause. Their bodies would not represent male honor (though they might attract male gazes).

Alia Mehdi the Egyptian naked blogger  Pause
  Play

Image 1 of 8: The original Egyptian naked blogger - Alia Mehdi: Once this hardened veteran nude protestor got wind of her Tunisian counterpart’s topless battle, she was more than happy to jump onto the Arab booby trail.

Bahrain's topless Jihad  Pause
  Play

Image 1 of 8: More regional comrades deploy their weapons of mass destruction: A Bahraini has already joined the ranks of the sextavists: "I protest for Amina Muslims girls. I take off my Abaya for Amina." The Pearl Revolution may have evaporated in a cloud of bullets gas but Bahraini women won’t be silenced, supporting the harem from the safety of home.

Iranians in Stockholm Mariam  Pause

Image 1 of 8: The moment the ladies of the Iranian Communist Party heard about FEMEN’s festival of breasts for International Women’s Day, they literally jumped out of their hijabs with excitement.

Sakineh Mohammadi Ashtiani  Pause
  Play

Image 1 of 8: Not just limiting themselves to the wholesale destruction of patriarchy on a Saturday afternoon,FEMEN fight the good fight in human rights cases too. In the early days of the radical movement, the Ukrainian sisterhood bared-all in support of Sakineh Mohammadi Ashtiani, an Iranian women put on death row for adultery.

Adel Almi threatened to stone Amina  Pause
  Play

Image 1 of 8: “Our tits are deadlier than your stones,” Femen-istas declare when waging “sex jihad”. The feisty rallying cry of the topless misogyny-bashing mujahadeen faces down the enemies of Tunisian tit-warrior Amina whose online antics outraged Salafis at home. Amina received sectioning stoning threats for fighting the patriarchal ‘infidels’.

FEMEN-ists burning Salafi flag in Paris  Pause
  Play

Image 1 of 8: FEMEN’s ‘topless jihad’ is being aimed at religious extremism across the world, particularly focusing on Islam. In a provocative move, the group of female anti-oppression warriors, variously billed 'peaceful terrorists' set a salfist flag ablaze outside a mosque in Paris to protest against those who “kill and rape in the name of Allah”.

From far, far away in a European corner of the globe comes an alternative call to Jihad. This is not just Jihad; this is Topless Jihad.

Women of miscellaneous heritage but from the collective ‘sextremists’ FEMEN - strewn between hubs in the Ukraine, Sweden and Paris - are enjoining their supporters to strip off in the battle with the ‘Islamists’. The Ukrainian feminist protest group are known for their topless tactics in their struggle against man-made injustice. According to their website, they "defend with their breast sexual and social equality in the world."

Inspired by the semi-naked brazen battle of 19 year-old Tunisian Amina Tyler, FEMEN mean business, as they deploy their best assets to the front-line to tackle the oppressive patriarchal honor society.  Armed with nothing but their inked breasts- scrawled messages across their fronts - therein lies the rub, and their raison d'etre, as they go for bust against the sworn enemy in its male and Muslim form.

International supporters of the cause (traditional brassieres need not apply)  -- the FEMEN faithful (or faith-less, whichever way you’re oggling) and those engaging in freeing their breasts from Islamic oppresion, apparently, should mark the online occasion on their individual Facebook pages or at a Tunisian embassy near them.

Say the organisers:  “Do your topless action near embassy  of Tunisia in your city!”

Rallying calls for the day include "Bare breasts against Islamism!" and "There will be a million Aminas”; the bar is set high for a prolific turn-out.

The mission statement by the organisers of the event thrusts their prize mascot Amina into the eye of the storm, as she fronts their Jihadist campaign.  "The fate of the Femen - Tunisia activist Amina Tyler has shaken up and united thousands of women across the globe....Amina's act of civil disobedience has brought down upon her the lethal hatred of islamists inhuman beasts for whom killing a woman is more natural than recognizing her right to do as she pleases with her own body.  For them, we now see, the love of freedom is the most dangerous kind of psychiatric illness, one demanding radical forced treatment in the spirit of fascist punitive medicine. The "Arab Spring," for the women of  North Africa, has turned out to be a frigid sharia winter that has deprived them of what few political rights and liberties they enjoyed."

On the eve of International Topless Jihad Day, we sneak a voyeuristic gander at the motley crew of flashing Mujahideen so far, in a gallery set to multiply with breasts overnight.
