The Ministry of Justice of Ukraine has denied Femen the right to register as a political organisation in Ukraine, accusing us of extremism.

Their refusal was centred around Femen’s statute, ‘an organisation of women for the protection of women’s rights and against the discrimination of women in society.’

The Ministry of Justice’s position on this issue is presented here verbatim: “The goal of this association, in part, the goal of this organisation of women, for the protection of women’s rights and against the discrimination of women in society, may be perceived to violate public order and the freedom of other citizens.’

The Ministry of Justice of Ukraine equated an organisation of women who stand for the protection of their own rights with Jihad. Femen predicts that the global democratic community will get a big surprise when they find out how these basic principles have been deemed by the Ukrainian authorities as ‘extremism’.

Міністерство Юстиції України відмовило жіночому руху FEMEN в реєстрації через звинувачення в екстремізмі.

Чиновники з державної реєстраційної служби відмовили жіночому руху FEMEN в реєстрації організації. Приводом для відмови стала мета організації, заявлена ​​в статуті: об'єднання жінок на захист своїх прав і в боротьбі проти дискримінації жінок у суспільстві. Позицію Міністерства Юстиції цитуємо дослівно: "мета діяльності об'єднання, у частині" мета "об'єднання жінок на захист своїх прав і в боротьбі проти дискримінації жінки в суспільстві, може сприйматися як така, яка закликає до порушення громадського порядку або прав і свобод інших людей." Ми вимагаємо від Міністерства Юстиції негайно зареєструвати FEMEN без зміни формулювання заяви. Ми будемо відстоювати своє право на об'єднання на захист своїх прав та прав жінок!

We disagree both with the decision of the Ministry of Justice and with the Ministry's interpretation of our goals and activities. We demand to register FEMEN in Ukraine immediately! We ask you join us in this campaign: we must secure our right to assembly and protection of the women's rights.

Министерство Юстиции Украины отказало женскому движению FEMEN в регистрации обвинив в экстремизме.

12 января 2012 года чиновники из государственной регистрационной службы отказали женскому движению FEMEN в регистрации организации. Поводом для отказа стала цель организации, заявленная в уставе: объединение женщин в защиту своих прав и в борьбе против дискриминации женщин в обществе. Позицию МинЮста цитируем дословно: "цель деятельности объединения, в части цель объединения женщин в защиту своих прав и в борьбе против дискриминации женщины в обществе, может восприниматься как такая, которая призывает к нарушению общественного порядка или прав и свобод других людей" (документ). Министерство Юстиции Украины поставило знак равенства между призывом к объединению женщин в защиту своих прав и священным Джихадом.

Мы не согласны с решением МинЮста и с такой интерпретацией деятельности нашей организации! Мы требуем от Министерства Юстиции немедленно зарегистрировать FEMEN без изменения формулировки заявления. Мы будем остаивать свое право на объединение в защиту своих прав и прав женщин!
