Law enforcement officers and explosives experts, who arrived after an anonymous call about an explosive planted at 21b Mykhailivska Street, where the office of the Femen women's rights movement is located, have seized items resembling a TT pistol and a grenade, the public liaisons department of the Ukrainian Interior Ministry's main office in Kyiv has reported.
On Tuesday, at 1310, the Shevchenkivsky district department of police in Kyiv received an anonymous message that an explosive had been planted at the specified address.
The leadership of the district department, an investigative team and bomb disposal experts immediately left for the scene.
During the inspection of the building law enforcement officers seized items similar to a TT pistol and a grenade, the police said.
The ministry's main office in Kyiv told Interfax-Ukraine that police officers had also seized portraits of Russian President Vladimir Putin and Patriarch Kirill, with a target on their faces and the photos containing offensive language.
The police interrogated several Femen members in connection with the detection of these items and collected information to be included in the unified register of pre-trial investigations.
The items were seized and sent for examination. Further checks are being conducted.
Law enforcement officers are simultaneously identifying those who made the anonymous call.
The police also categorically denied allegations by Femen that somebody had secretly left the items in their office.
Meanwhile, the movement claimed that several Femen activists had been held in the office and that the police were "continuing a special theater performance."
"The activists were notified about the opening of a criminal case under Article 263 (illegal possession of weapons and ammunition)," the organization said.
