Stockholm (dpa) - Four members of the feminist group Femen on
Thursday interrupted a speech by Swedish Prime Minister Fredrik
Reinfeldt during an ongoing political week on the island of Gotland.
The women shouted "Lobbyists go home" and took off their tops before
police officers - some plain-clothed - apprehended them, and dragged
them from the scene.
Reinfeldt was momentarily quiet, but continued his speech after
saying: "Friends, that is how freedom of speech can be expressed."
The protest aimed at "changing the basic power structures," a friend
of one of the activists told the online edition of the Expressen
daily.
Femen, a group of Ukrainian origin, is known for its topless
protests.
Reinfeldt, leader of the conservative Moderate Party, annual
Almedalen week, a gathering of hundreds attendees incuding
politicians, business leaders and lobbyists among others.
In his speech, Reinfeldt underlined the need for a stable economy and
keeping order in public finances.
