MOSCOW (AP) -- Five Ukrainian women activists have held a topless protest outside the Moscow headquarters of Gazprom, to denounce the policies of the Russian gas supplier.
Police detained one of the women from the protest group Femen who had climbed onto the roof of a small building at the entrance.
Ukraine is dependent on Russia for supplies of natural gas and is demanding to pay lower prices. Moscow has refused to budge unless Ukraine agrees to give up control over the export pipelines that carry Russian gas on to Europe.
During Monday's protest, the women held up signs saying "Gas Racket" and "Gas Gangsters."
The temperature at the time was minus 24 degrees Celsius (minus 11 Fahrenheit).
The Femen activists have become popular in Ukraine for their topless protests.
