The former boxer and Maidan activist, Vitali Klitschko, defeated the far-right Right Sector spokesman to be reelected as Mayor of Kyiv.
The runoff local elections for Ukraine’s capital delivered the incumbent, Vitali Klitschko, with a comfortable victory, that is, 66.5% of the vote. His opponent, the ultra-nationalist Bryslav Bereza, gathered 33,5%.
Klitschko was first elected in May 2014 as a prominent figure of the opposition against President Viktor Yanukovych. Not everyone welcomes his election. The activist group Femen accuse Klitschko of association with sex trafficking. On 15 November,
