Ukrainian feminist group demands release of Belarusian political prisoners

Members of the Ukrainian feminist group Femen on Monday protested at the Belarusian KGB office demanding to free political prisoners. The protesters came out to the street topless with moustaches on their faces, holding posters “Long Live Belarus!” and “Free Political Prisoners!” After the victory of Alexander Lukashenko in the presidential election on December 19, 2010, the Belarusian opposition held a protest rally in Minks. When UEFA supremo Michel Platini visited Ukraine’s capital Kyiv to check on the final touches made in the overall infrastructure connected with the forthcoming EURO 2012, he was faced with a group of shapely topless lasses outside NSK Olimpiyskiy Stadium carrying placards in English, Ukrainian and Russian against prostitution. Members of the feminist group ‘Femen’ claim that UEFA is trying to influence the Ukrainian government to legalise prostitution during the European Championships in June and July 2012. Half-naked FEMEN activists urge heavenly and earthy forces to “turn out the king” in Moscow

Kyiv, December 12, Interfax - Activists of the FEMEN women movement held an unsanctioned action to support Russian opposition in downtown Moscow. The action titled God, turn out the king! took place not far from the Cathedral of Christ the Savior in Moscow, the movement says in its press release. "We are inspired with the actions of Russian non-parliamentary opposition as they don't accept the results of Russian electoral flimflam lottery.
