(ANSAmed) - TUNIS, MARCH 19 - Tunisian high school student Amina, 19, has joined the Femen credo of protest through nudity, and a Muslim cleric has issued a fatwa calling for her to be flogged then stoned to death. Amina posted a topless picture of herself with the words ''my body is mine and no one else's'' written on her skin on the Tunisian Facebook fanpage of Femen, a social movement and provocative women's movement founded in 2008 in the Ukraine. One of the reasons people protest is to expose their ideas to the world. It seems to be working for one group of female activists -- at least the exposure part. The group, Femen, is a group of women who, according to the organization's website, defend sexual and social equality with their breasts and "undermine the foundations of the patriarchal world by their intellect, sex, agility, make disorder, bring neurosis and panic to the men's world" (sic). Two activists from the Ukrainian feminist group Femen were dragged away from the edge of Saint Peter’s Square by police late on Tuesday as they protested against the Vatican’s opposition to gay marriage. The protesters set off pink flares chanting “Pope no more!” before they were restrained by officers and carried to a police station. Those pesky topless protestors are at it again, and this time they are back at St. Peter's Square protesting the Vatican as the election of a new pope takes place just meters from where they stood topless, according to a March 12, 2013 news report from La Press. The group FEMEN, originally started by Ukrainian human rights protestor Anna Hutsol, stood before the Vatican with bare breasts exposed, to expose what they feel is years and years of controversial beliefs that are no longer relevant.
